Styrene impregnating resins

Chemical base of these impregnating resins is solution of unsaturated polyesterimid in styrene. Styrene impregnating resins are designated for impregnation of mechanically and temperature stressed alternators and high speed electrical rotating machines for domestic appliances and hand tools of thermal classes F and H. They are designated for continual or discontinuous impregnation of windings NN of electrical rotating machines of thermal classes F and H by dipping in continuous impregnating machines. It is possible to use styrene impregnating resins also for discontinuous impregnation of windings mainly from small diameters enamelled wires, under atmospheric pressure also under vacuum in those cases, when low viscosity impregnating resin with high penetration is required. Impregnated windings are hardened by temperatures 130 - 140 oC. After hardening they have very good mechanical stabilization, resistance to solvent vapours, transformer oils and refrigerator liquids.
