VUKI a.s. successfully follows the tradition of Cable and insulating materials research institute and up to these days it pays attention to own research, development and innovation activities oriented to three main product group areas with a target to gain and preserve advance upon competitors through permanent assortment innovation.

For most of these activities the company managed to process quality research projects, which were successful in competition of Slovak workplaces of research and development including SAV and universities and won state budget support, either from state programmes and Innovation fund of Slovak Ministry of economy up to year 2005 or APVV since 2005. Nowadays the company handles four projects supported by APVV, which are focused on area of cables, electric insulating materials, their lifetime and reduction of environmental harm by their production.

The company had been in 2004 to 2006 despite of restrictions for Bratislava municipality successfully applied also for support for its projects from European Union Structural funds, specifically Single programme document Target 2, where we have succeeded with three projects.

Project target or result:
Research and quantification of mellowed PVC cable blends negative effects and solution is focused on achieving new knowledge in area of improving environmental parameters by their processing and using on cables. Part of the solution is also searching for eventual alternative materials by preserving functional properties, cable quality and their lifetime.

Electric insulating materials research and development in terms of new chemical legislation REACH

Project target or result:
Electric insulating materials research and development, above all impregnating resins and initiatory systems, which will not contain substances liable authorization according to REACH requirements. In case of impossibility of substitution at least processing of records, which will be sufficient for these substances not to be excluded from market within the REACH regulations.
